After seventeen years at Smalto, then some at Ungaro, French designer Franck Boclet succumbed to the lure of independence and launched a label with his name. "I thought about it for years, and I honed my project in partnership with my suppliers and an Italian financier", he said. His début signature collection offered an array of relaxed tailored looks. Flaunting his sartorial savoir-faire, Franck Boclet rigged lapels with metal wire to create new forms. Jackets in ultra lightweight jersey and draped trousers will be sure to lure his followers, as will the more affordable price tag. Fiercely focused on the current trend, the drop-crotch pants are Capri-long and paired with impeccably cut jackets. Everything is set off like a perfect note thanks to his irreproachable tailoring skills which have been lightened for this first collection. Franck Boclet explained he didn't want his black & white line to be limited to one style but rather be defined as a theme to help the wearer keep being a chameleon according to his desires : one day white, one day black, one day creative, one day urban, one day festive, one day traditional… "Men will no longer be reduced to one style because the real style is to escape from all styles", he said. Kudos, I'm loving it !
