Jean//phillip is a menswear couture brand based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The designer has worked in fashion design for many years constructing his own universe, which he did when he founded his own label. For this season, the concept was to make a so-called "no-nonsense mentality of luxury" collection, take strong materials, and create garments with only the necessary elements, to end up with a product that is beautiful and honest. The color palette mixed with the combination of heavy fabrics such as leather, sturdy velvet and woven cotton with lighter silk, cashmere knitting and sheer wool, allow for a hereditary feeling of sentimentalism and inspirational flowing lineage. Many of the pieces have feminine features such as sheer flowing fabrics, along with a certain item that resembles a pant/skirt hybrid, featuring a super-elongated crotch. The collection can be experienced as a hemisphere in constant turmoil. Wearers and observers become one, in the array of luxurious decomposed pieces. Jean//phillip has decided to deconstruct the general male silhouette, by drawing new partitions of the body. Tops flow into bottoms, whereas tailored vests delineate the shapes, confronted by oversized loosely fitted cardigans, which allow the garments to fuse and interact. The pieces all interact in a different rudimentary way, alongside the body, of the punk adept or the luxury fiend.
