Nuno Gama

Portuguese designer Nuno Gama, 45, launched his eponymous label in 1991 in his home city of Porto. For this season's collection, he drew his inspiration from the traditional garments of the fishermen from Nazaré -an old Portuguese village by the sea- and their passion for adventures at sea. That's where he got the black caps, check-patterned shirts and this unique 'seven-skirt' costume of the varinas (wives of the fishermen who sold fish). But Nuno Gama was also inspired by his latest journey to the Middle East where he found sarouels, kaftans and djellabas. The key pieces of the collection were undoubtedly the pants playing with the opposition of volumes for a sensual image of masculinity. Showcasing innovative menswear from head-to-toe outfits to shoes and accessories, the designer played color-blocking. Especially focusing on geometry for a large range of sexy sweamwear. Enough to awake the lion in you ! The man defined by Nuno Gama respects traditions but gives them contemporary codes, wearing comfortable and urban apparel with a sense of humor; he's a man who enjoys clothes with a visual impact. And once again this collection is quite the image of that provision to the irreverence of Nuno Gama. Yay !
