Dutch label Les Hommes conceived and outlined the image of a modern warrior, a contemporary knight, whose elegance, decisiveness and strictness define a precise silhouette that includes and highlights these elements. It's once again the movie world imaginarium to offer inspiration : post-atomic warriors from 'Mad Max' and stellar knights from the 'Star Wars' saga are behind Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch's creations. These two movies represent a perfect expression of modernity, but also the ferocity of those who live in modern times. Silhouettes therefore are strong and masculine, pure and minimal, they reach sharpness through curved and straight razorblade cuts, without missing on elegance and timeless chic altogether. Short coats and blousons often steal details from the biker world; zips line pockets and collars, sometimes also scarves, leather or suede strings hang from pants and jackets, padded shoulders decorate tees and turtle neck sweaters. Pants are often wide and fluid, pleated on the front. The material range includes precious fabrics such as soft flannel, wool, cashmere, and traditional sartorial textiles such as pinstripe and Prince of Wales, together with brocade, suede, chinchilla fur, and a laminated jersey used for skinny tops and leggings. Knits play a key role, also for accessories, and unexpectedly, for details such as lapels or sleeves of flannel blazers. Pants proportions vary, now they reach mid-calf and are paired with military ankle boots for aggressive and strong looks. The color palette includes Les Hommes all-time favorites : black, gray, chocolate and flashes of shining bronze, often in solid combinations.
