Billy Reid

Alabama-based menswear designer Billy Reid made his New York Fashion Week début with a coolly styled presentation at Milk Studios. As you'll see in the gallery, the set was styled to feel innately autumnal while the chic men's separates felt polished and collegiate with a certain 'Dead Poets Society' air about them. If you appreciate Ralph Lauren's Blue Label and can forego its near-parody elements then you'll love GQ’s designer of the year Billy Reid's current collection. Preppy without being Gossip-Girl-bright, it takes the best of American classic men's fashion, with its East Coast cool, and keeps it simple. Bar for the odd tweed expect nothing more than classic tones and cuts, something which is greatly appreciated in a period of increasing futurism on the catwalks.
