This season's collection is a collaboration between Belgian designer Ek Thongprasert, 29, who’s from Thailand originally and studied in Antwerp and jewelry artist Noon Passama Sanpatchayapong also from Thailand and went to school for jewely in Amsterdam. They met each other during their first degree in Chulalongkorn University, one of the most prestige degree in architecture. The collection is entitled 'Hatsu yume' ('First dream'), which is inspired by both artist Bill Viola's same titled video (watch it in the second part) and the Danish tale 'The little match girl'. They both share the same concept of a progression towards an ideal reality, like the people in the third world countries who hope to be in a better place. They have to cut up and collage donated garments in order to fit into the clothes. The designer extracted different elements from the Scandinavian knitted jumper (which served as a symbol of warm and ideal), such as cutting, pattern etc. and re-collage them into each individual garments in the collection. Ek Thongprasert focus on a customer who knows how to appreciate unique and timeless products which the value is transmitted not only through high quality self developed materialk sophisticated handcraft and production technique but also essentially through the individual philosophy and conceptual aspect behind Ek Thongprasert's collection.
