Frankie Morello

The Frankie Morello menswear show held at Via Palermo was a huge spectacle (watch the video below). The Morello shows are often a kind of performance art, and this one was no different, with a very massive and very active video wall as the backdrop, scantily clad male dancers running around striking poses, and soccer players all over the place. The performance art elements were great entertainment on their own, the clothes were fun and funky as per usual, and the models were really selling the charismatic undead thing, all of which combined into an odd but cohesive and interesting show. The theme was alternative athletica : vampires and football. The models hit the runway wearing down-filled puffer jackets, asymmetric zippers and camouflage print jeans and jumpers. As well as denim kilts and blazers. Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti displayed a stud trimmed blazer, a graphic message tee, a worn-in leather biker jacket with studs, a double zip plaid lined hoodie, a sweater blazer, a shearling lined hooded leather jacket, black denim drop-crotch pants with jersey inserts, two-tone sweatpants, even a quilted racing jacket, etc in a color palette from grays to blacks and hues of red, olive or navy.
