Konrad Parol

Womenswear was the first stop for Polish designer Konrad Parol. However, after a few successful seasons, the Warsaw native found his true calling in menswear. Cleverly deconstructed jerseys and utilitarian elements are a few trademarks of his aesthetics, and his collection, RE-BELS by Konrad Parol, follows a similar path with panelled leggings teamed with over-sized parkas, and human hair wreaking havoc on the designer’s sweatshirts and jackets. The inspiration came from the inside. Konrad Parol always starts designing by listening to his own needs. Hence, he wants to make clothes that grab attention and that can positively influence those around him. Whilst working on the collection, he wanted to create something very masculine and strong. The clothes reflect the post-apocalyptic vision of the world. It’s a story about the last tribe on earth that needs to survive and restore civilisation. He used a lot of knitwear and all types of jersey. For some reason, he's mesmerised by jersey. "It’s so fluid and easy to drape", says he. "Its big plus is also the fact that it’s natural, bio-degradable and environmentally-friendly, which is very important right now".
